Davide Forè’s comment follows: “I have been a real… jerk! I run a great race, a very close Final as well as a fair one. I realized that I was leading by a few meters in the last lap after pushing hard in the previous ones and at the braking proceeding the right-hand hairpin I run wide as opposed to the narrow trajectory I meant to follow. Hajek got closer to me and in the double corner before the finish line I knew my rival would have attempted a move but I did not think he was so close, he put his kart in and things went fine for him. My mistake, not at that point though but in the previous hairpin. A victory given away…”

Illot: The English driver accomplishes a race in true Nyck De Vries style (the grab-all ace, now on to auto racing, conquered two World karting titles with Chiesa Corse). Ilott is the fastest from the getgo, landing a great pole position in the qualifyings that in the end will stand as the event record. After setting the premise for a top level race, in the heats he actually doesn’t collect as much as he is capable of: the weather doesn’t help and in the end of the direct matches he is only sixth. At the start of the prefinal he dashes from row three and by lap eight he is already in the lead, where he stays until the finish-line. The final then plays out as a one-man-show: Ilott manages a solid lead for the entire race and even gets the satisfaction of scoring another best lap, distancing the five-kart pack of pursuers by as much as 2.8 seconds. “He did the race we were all expecting of him” – says Dino Chiesa. “He kept a good pace all season long and this time he got results. Perhaps some merit also goes to the team’s organization, with a new mechanic and a new team manager, and also to the fact that he went back to running on a Parilla engine after a parenthesis with TM.”
